Daniel W. Davis, M.D. - Bio

 Dr. Dan Davis is a full time forensic pathologist in Minneapolis. He received his medical degree at the University of Minnesota and performed pathology residency training in El Paso, TX. He developed his interest in forensics while working in the Army as an Associate Regional Medical Examiner for Europe and Southwest Asia during the Desert Shield and Desert Storm operations.
Since 1992 he has been an Assistant Medical Examiner for the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office in Minneapolis. He holds American Board of Pathology certification in Anatomic and Forensic Pathology and is a member of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS), the National Association of Medical Examiners (NAME), the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (APSAC) and the Minnesota Coroners and Medical Examiners Association.
He is an expert on the issues of child abuse and in addition to examining and testifying in child abuse cases, he helps train attorneys litigating child abuse. A demonstrative program created by Dr. Davis to explain the mechanism of injury in the Shaken Baby syndrome is used around the county in both criminal litigation and child abuse prevention programs.
Dr. Davis has a particular interest and special expertise in the use of comuter graphics and interactive multimedia to explain to juries the sometimes complex issues in a variety of injury mechanisms. He is known for making computer demonstations of comparisons between patterned skin injuries and suspect instruments with his expertise affirmed at the appelate level by the Minnesota Supreme Court.
Dr. Davis is also President and CEO of Expert Digital Solutions, Inc., in Edina, MN. His company provides consultative support to lawyers around the country on cases warranting a second opinion or computer-assisted graphics and multimedia. EDS has created supporting demonstrative graphics, witness support and interactive closing arguments in dozens of murder cases from around the country. |
